Celebrate Earth Day at the Capitol + Natural Spring Cleaning Workshop at ArtBeast

April 20, 2010

Have some free time on Thursday? Why not join the Environmental Council of Sacramento for the International Earth Day Rally for the Future?

From 3-5PM on Thursday, April 22nd join ECOS, along with dignitaries and politicos stepping up to the State Capitol on Earth Day to celebrate California’s and the Sacramento region’s commitment to tackling climate change and lead the green movement.

The California State Capitol is located at 10th Street and Capitol Mall and admission is *FREE*. For more information click here or call 916.444.0022.

There are plenty of ways to “go green” and one of the simplest is making small changes to the way you maintain your home. Not only is cleaning with all natural ingredients safer, but it is cheaper AND good for the environment. Both May and I recently attended a green cleaning workshop at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op and found it extremely interesting. We came away with lots of green cleaning ideas, helpful hints, product suggestions and plenty of recipes.

ArtBeast is offering a Natural Spring Cleaning Workshop on Friday, April 23rd from 6:30-8PM. This workshop will provide knowledge of some of the simplest and cheapest ways to clean your home naturally, without harsh chemicals and toxins. Participants will learn about common ingredients, get to practice and make some cleaning products, and leave with recipes and samples. Recipes and samples will include: carpet freshener, soft scrub, wood polish/cleaner, and all purpose cleaner. The cost of the workshop is $11 and to register click here.

ArtBeast is located at 2226 K Street and for more information click here or call 916.441.1233.
