2nd Annual Cal Auto Museum Car Cruise

July 28, 2010

Whether or not you’re a “car” person, you can’t help but stare when a perfectly restored cruiser passes by on a Sunday afternoon. On Saturday, July 31 the 2nd Annual California Automobile Museum Car Cruise makes its way through downtown and midtown, showcasing over two hundred unique cars from various eras and manufacturers as they celebrate an American summertime tradition of hot rod cruising with community-wide participation.

The fun begins at the Cal Auto Museum at 3:30PM with a show of the classic cars participating. At 5PM the vehicles will make their way through Old Sacramento, up Capitol Avenue, N Street and finally J Street where there will be a final car show, awards, and entertainment from 6PM to 9PM. Best of all, being a spectator is *FREE*!

The California Automobile Museum is located at 2200 Front Street and for more information click HERE or call 916.442.6802. To check out the full cruise course click HERE.

We’ll see you there!

“Going Green” Exhibit at the Cal Auto Museum

March 2, 2010

Even at only a year old my little guy loves driving his cars throughout the house. He even makes the engine noises as he speeds (crawls) from the kitchen, through the living room and on to his bedroom. I can imagine in another year or two he is going to be interested in the “big” cars.

If you have a little one who is into cars check out the California Automobile Museum and their “It’s Cool for the Planet” exhibit.

The exhibit showcases a range of vehicles that span the turn of the 20th century to the early years of the 21st century, including prototype experimental vehicles that have helped develop hydrogen fuel cells, as well as electric plug-in technology.

Why not use your child’s love of automobiles to teach them about energy efficiency and environmental responsibility? It’s a win-win as far as I’m concerned.

The California Automobile Museum is located at 2200 Front Street in Old Sacramento and is open daily from 10AM-6PM. General admission is $8, seniors (65 and over) are $7, students (with student ID) are $4 and ages under 5 are *FREE*.
