If you’ve followed this blog for at least a month you already know that the McKinley Library offers monthly activities for school-age children and teens. In June your teen can learn to make “No Sew” Recycled Bags and children will get to celebrate World Juggling Day with Damento Juggling Club.
On Thursday, June 3rd from 3:30PM to 4:30PM your teen or preteen can join the Friends of McKinley Library in learning to make no-sew beach bags from recycled materials— they’ll design the bag they want, take it to the pool, to the beach, or even to the library. Best of all, the activity is *FREE*. What a perfect start to the summer!
On Saturday, June 19th you and your school-age child can drop in to the library any time from 2PM to 4PM for an impromptu juggling lesson. The Damento Juggling Club will have you juggling (more than schedules, meal plans and carpools) in no time! Again, this is a *FREE* activity for East Sacramento children and parents.
Finally, if you find yourself only a couple of weeks into summer and you and your children are already driving each other nuts, take some time on Thursday, June 24th to get out of the house and enjoy some *FREE* family entertainment at McKinley. The Beach Blast Film Festival is an entire afternoon and evening of beach-themed movies. Craft sessions will precede each movie, and some refreshments will be provided. The Beach Blast begins at 12PM and activities run through 8PM. Give East Sacramento Dad an excuse to wear his favorite Tommy Bahama shirt (you know, the one you’ve hidden because he wants to wear it to every single block party during the summer…)
We’ll see you there!
