Have you heard of peace. love. swap. yet? This concept is nothing short of brilliant if you ask me.
The peace. love. swap. mission is to keep gently used baby, kid, and maternity items out of our landfills, and to donate to local charities by producing fun affordable, family friendly swaps on an ongoing basis.
That is the mission of peace. love. swap. and it is definitely being accomplished. The swaps consist of families who come to donate gently used clothing and baby and children’s items (even maternity clothes) and in return get to “shop” for new items. There is no pricing, no tags, no commitment. You simply trade the things that no longer fit or your children are no longer using for new-to-you items you actually need.
Admission to peace. love. swap. is $5 per family, although if you volunteer you not only get to swap for free (5 items), but you get first pick. If you don’t have anything to swap you can still “shop” but priority is given to those who bring items to contribute. After the swap the leftover goods are donated to local charities.
Are you sold yet? Are you already packing boxes of onesies and unused toys? The Sacramento swap is being held at Funderland on Wednesday, May 12 from 8:30AM to 10AM.
We’ll see you there!
