Each year the Old Sacramento Tree Lighting ceremony boasts the “first tree lighting of the season” and this year the event takes place tomorrow, November 25th. Head out to Front and K Streets before 6:30PM to witness the 50 foot tree light up for the first time in the 2009 season. There will also be live entertainment preceeding the ceremony and Sacramento’s own Mayor Kevin Johnson will kick off the tree lighting itself.
After the ceremony stay for the first Theater of Lights show immediately following! The Theater of Lights is a “symphony of lights, sounds and visual effects” set to the poem “The Night Before Christmas”.
The Theater of Lights continues through January 3rd with 6:30PM and 8:00PM showings Thursday through Sunday. Parking is available on the street in Old Sacramento, however there is also parking available in the Old Sacramento garage on I Street or the Tower garage.
