Museum Week: California State Railroad Museum

by

“Located in Old Sacramento, the California State Railroad Museum is a complex of historic facilities and unique attractions. Widely regarded as North America’s most popular railroad museum, there is something here for everyone! Throughout the year, experience lavishly restored trains, engaging exhibits, and unique special events. Weekends April 25-September 27, ride behind a real steam locomotive.”

Now through February 15, 2010 you can check out The Rail Splitter and the Railroads: Lincoln, the Union and the Golden State exhibit at the California State Railroad Museum. The museum is located in family-friendly Old Sacramento at 111 I St. and is open 10AM-5PM daily. Admission is $8 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6-17 (kids aged 5 and under are *FREE*).

I’m not afraid to admit that I’ve actually been on a date at the Railroad Museum. Most of the time it’s a quiet, peaceful place to hang out. Feel free to go without the kids! I’m just sayin’…
